Stakeholders discussing the renewable energy feasibility study and solar energy adoption in Mauritius

Enovra Represents the Solar Sector at GCF–FAO Energy Workshop in Mauritius

Introduction

Enovra Energy Solutions Ltd was proud to represent the solar energy sector at the Green Climate Fund Readiness Workshop hosted by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in Mauritius.

The official Validation Workshop for the Energy Sector was held on 23 July 2026 at Hennessy Park Hotel in Ebène. It brought together public institutions, technical experts and leading renewable-energy stakeholders to review findings and discuss practical pathways for accelerating renewable energy adoption in Mauritius.

Participating alongside respected industry peers, including Reneworld, Ecoasis and other established organisations within the renewable-energy sector, Enovra contributed local market data and practical technical expertise to the national discussion.

Contributing to Mauritius’s Renewable-Energy Feasibility Study

The workshop formed part of the GCF and FAO Readiness Support Project:

“Advancing the agriculture, water and energy pipeline, with increased awareness of key stakeholders and strengthening capacities of the National Designated Authorities and direct access applicants in the Republic of Mauritius.”

The energy-sector workshop focused on validating the findings of a feasibility study and cost-benefit analysis, gathering feedback from industry stakeholders and identifying the measures required to strengthen renewable-energy adoption in Mauritius.

Key Contributions from Enovra

Enovra contributed practical insights relating to:

  • Decentralised solar photovoltaic systems
  • Battery Energy Storage Systems
  • Solar thermal technologies
  • Renewable-energy market conditions
  • Equipment and installation considerations
  • Customer requirements and affordability
  • Technical and operational challenges in the local market

This practical input is important because national energy strategies must reflect not only theoretical models, but also the realities experienced by companies designing, installing and supporting renewable-energy systems across Mauritius.

Enovra Among Recognised Renewable-Energy Stakeholders

Enovra’s participation alongside established companies reflects its growing role within Mauritius’s renewable-energy ecosystem.

The workshop created a valuable platform for industry participants to share technical experience, market intelligence and practical recommendations with institutions involved in shaping the country’s clean-energy future.

For Enovra, participation was not simply about attending the event. It was an opportunity to contribute directly to discussions concerning the future deployment of solar PV, battery storage and solar thermal technologies in Mauritius.

It also demonstrated the importance of ensuring that private-sector experience is considered when developing national feasibility studies, policy recommendations and future renewable-energy programmes.

Public-Private Collaboration for Clean Energy in Mauritius

Accelerating the transition to renewable energy requires close collaboration between government institutions, the electricity utility, renewable-energy agencies, technical consultants and private-sector operators.

Enovra would like to acknowledge the Food and Agriculture Organization, the Central Electricity Board and the Mauritius Renewable Energy Agency for their role in supporting this initiative and bringing key stakeholders together.

Roles of Key Stakeholders

Each organisation has an important role to play.

Public institutions establish the national policy and regulatory framework. The CEB manages grid integration and electricity-system requirements. MARENA supports the development and promotion of renewable energy. Private-sector companies contribute technology, investment, project-delivery capability and direct knowledge of customer and market conditions.

Strong public-private collaboration can help Mauritius improve renewable-energy policies, expand technical capacity, strengthen market confidence and accelerate the responsible adoption of clean-energy technologies.

Supporting Mauritius’s Clean-Energy Transition

Mauritius has significant potential to increase the use of solar energy and other renewable technologies.

Achieving this potential will require coordinated action, technically sound solutions and a clear understanding of local market conditions.

Workshops such as the GCF–FAO Energy Sector Validation Workshop provide an important forum for aligning national objectives with practical industry experience.

They also help ensure that future renewable-energy strategies are realistic, implementable and capable of delivering meaningful long-term benefits for Mauritian households, businesses and institutions.

Enovra’s Continuing Commitment

Enovra Energy Solutions remains fully committed to supporting Mauritius’s transition towards cleaner, more resilient and more sustainable energy.

Our Commitment Includes:

  • Contributing constructively to renewable-energy discussions
  • Sharing genuine market and technical experience
  • Supporting strong industry standards
  • Collaborating with public institutions and sector stakeholders
  • Delivering high-performance solar and battery solutions across Mauritius

As momentum continues to build around renewable energy in Mauritius, Enovra is proud to be contributing alongside recognised industry peers and institutions helping to shape the country’s clean-energy future.
